Nicaragua, 2023
Trip Overview
Gratefulness and humility are two of the many words to describe how our hearts feel. We wanted to sincerely thank you for prayers and generosity to support our trip to Nicaragua.
We were able to complete three wells with your generosity.
Additionally, we were able to feed and provide food, drinks, art supplies, and soccer balls to the community. As many of you are aware Nicaragua was the first trip Joseph and I went on in February 2014. That trip was a pivotal moment in our lives, God transformed us. Nine years later we had the privilege to go back to Nicaragua along the side of our family. It was God’s perfect timing and will.
God opened the door for us to serve the people in Nicaragua in various capacities whether it was playing soccer and doing arts and crafts with children, feeding the community, preaching the gospel, prophesying, praying for individuals and families, or drilling for clean water.
For decades, Nicaragua has experienced water insecurity within the country.
As we heard from the people directly, the lack of clean water has devastating effects and has caused severe health issues leading to death. It is estimated that over one million-nearly one out of five Nicaraguans- do not have access to clean water.
The picture shown is the water the students were drinking prior to their clean water well being repaired as their well stopped working. The gracious neighbor was providing water to the students in the interim.
We were able to drill and complete one well, it was only a miracle by God as it took three days from start to finish. In addition, we were able to repair a well at a church and at a school. God made a way, He answered the communities’ prayers and our prayers!
These are two of the churches where clean water was obtained. All glory to God!
We also had the opportunity to share the gospel at the local church and school. There were many children who gave their heart to God. At one event, we had over 50 children, where we were able to share God’s tender love and joy with them.
We left Nicaragua with our hearts feeling full! Thank you again for your partnership, sowing into us, and the people of Nicaragua.
